Mets aim for sweep to finish season

Colorado (66-95) at Ny Mets (83-78), 1:10 pm EDT

FLUSHING, New York (Ticker) -- Quietly one of the hottest teams in baseball down the stretch, the New York Mets will try to finish an encouraging season with a four-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies on Sunday.

The Mets have won 11 of their last 13 games and already have secured their best record since 2000 when they went to the World Series.

David Wright hit a two-run homer and Jae Seo tossed six strong innings in New York's 3-1 victory Saturday. It pushed the Mets to within a win of their second sweep in just over a week.

Victor Zambrano (7-11, 3.98 ERA) will be making his second straight start after a brief stint in the bullpen. He allowed two unearned runs in 4 2/3 innings of Tuesday's 3-2 win over Philadelphia.

The Rockies need a win Sunday to avoid finishing with the worst record in franchise history. The 1993 edition went 67-95 in the club's first season of existence.

Aaron Cook (6-2, 3.75) has been one of Colorado's bright spots down the stretch, winning six starts in a row before Tuesday's 12-3 loss to Atlanta in which he was reached for seven runs in 4 2/3 innings.
